Carneys to mark 50th anniversary during reception

XBOARDMAN -- The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Carney, 5200 West Blvd., will be celebrated during a reception Jan. 15 at St. Charles Church, where they have been members for 50 years.
Mr. Carney and the former Mary Rita McNicholas were married Jan. 28, 1956, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Brier Hill.
Their family includes T.J. and Annie (Hagan) Carney of Lakewood, Greg and Maggie (Cene) Carney of Canfield and Molly and Dan Leising of Brimfield Township, and eight grandchildren.
Mrs. Carney is retired from the Boardman Local School System. She attended Carlow College and Youngstown State University.
Mr. Carney, a YSU graduate, is also retired after serving as a Mahoning County commissioner, state legislator and Boardman Township trustee. He continues to serve as chairman of Carney-McNicholas Inc.
