Best Bets on TV Tonight

"Cold Case" (8 p.m., CBS): Bruce Springsteen fans may want to check out tonight's episode of "Cold Case," in which Lily reopens a 1988 case involving four high school buddies. Interwoven throughout the story are pieces of nine '80s-era songs from the Boss, who typically has been stingy when it comes to allowing his music to be used for TV.
"The L Word" (10 p.m., Showtime): Can "The L Word" rebound from what was largely regarded as a sophomore slump? The provocative drama opens its third season tonight with Bette and Tina visiting a sex therapist in hopes of getting their groove back after having a child. Meanwhile, Carmen takes Shane home to meet her parents. That could be interesting.
"The Simpsons" (8 p.m., Fox): Homer thinks he's found his real dad -- a treasure hunter. Felicity Huffman's real-life husband, William H. Macy, provides a voice.
"Desperate Housewives" (9 p.m., ABC): Lynette catches Gabrielle kissing her husband, Tom.
"Little Einsteins" (7:30 p.m., Disney Channel): The series for preschoolers gets a special prime-time slot to tell the back story of how the four friends came to embark on their missions and become the Little Einsteins.
