Grugers observe 50th anniversary at family party

XBOARDMAN -- Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gruger Jr., 239 Griswold Drive, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a Mediterranean cruise in September and at a family party held Dec. 30 in Canfield.
The cruise and party were gifts to the couple from their five children and their spouses, Valerie and Mark Haller, Winnetka, Ill.; Rebecca and Bradford Borden of Chagrin Falls; Walter Gruger III of Atlanta, Ga.; Melissa and David Scott of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; and Thomas and Jennifer Gruger of Evanston, Ill.
The former Dalis Yoder and Mr. Gruger were united in marriage on Dec. 28, 1955, at Sacred Heart Church in Notre Dame, Ind.
Mrs. Gruger graduated from Holy Cross School of Nursing in South Bend, Ind.
Mr. Gruger, a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, owned the Phoenix Electric Co. in Youngstown for many years and is presently associated with Routh-Hurlbert Business Real Estate of Howland in the Youngstown area.
