Man found hiding in store faces charges

YOUNGSTOWN -- A Campbell man found hiding inside the Red and White Market on Elm Street has been charged with breaking and entering.
Timothy L. Vari, 53, of Sixth Street, was arraigned Monday in municipal court. Bond was set at $50,000. He will be back in court March 8 for a preliminary hearing.
Police said the drop ceiling at the store was partially broken when they arrived around 6:50 a.m. Sunday and they saw a hole in the roof at the rear of the building. No fresh footprints were seen in the heavy snow, indicating the suspect was still inside.
Vari was found behind a row of coolers and placed under arrest. Nearby, police found a shopping basket filled with cigarettes and cigars worth about $500. A leather coat, gloves and a sweater that may belong to Vari were found on the roof, police said.
