YOUNGSTOWN Group sets meeting in effort to aid youths
The program will feature a showcase of talented young people.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Stopping the Violence Committee of Whole Man Ministries will have a community meeting at 3 p.m. Saturday at Heart Reach Ministries, 211 Redondo Road.
The program is being presented in conjunction with Hi-Praz Network Inc. and Music Artist Consulting, both from Chicago, and will include a talent show.
The Stopping The Violence Committee seeks to help young people build self-esteem, positive attitudes and sound minds, which in turn benefits communities and families.
It offers spiritual guidance and support; counseling on abuse, drug and alcohol problems; educational seminars; home assistance; food and clothing; sports and recreation; musical enhancement; performance arts; transportation; and referrals.
Hi-Praz Network Inc. will bring its Education Station 2006 program to the event. Education Station markets the work of independent artists and other young people who want to become working artists.
Its focus is mentoring underprivileged, independent artists and youths who live in urban communities and low-income areas.
