Boxing
LEEMORE, Calif. -- McDonald brawler Adam Smith came out swinging for six rounds, but it wasn't enough Thursday night at the Tachi Palace Casino on an eight-bout card promoted by California Boxing Inc.
Smith (5-11-1) came in at 200 pounds -- at least 18 pounds under his normal fighting weight -- and lost a decision to Manuel Quezada of Wasco, Calif.
Quezada (12-4, 9 knockouts) fought back against the onrushing Smith, connecting with solid counterpunching left hooks. Though Smith seemed to have the early rounds, Quezada took over in the later rounds with solid shots, getting the best of his opponent.
