Six indicted after yearlong investigation

NILES -- A yearlong investigation by Niles Police Department Narcotics Unit investigators netted secret indictments of six people on multiple counts of drug trafficking.
Chief Bruce Simeone said investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation assisted in the investigation.
Indicted were Jose A. Croal Jr., 27, Royal Mall Drive, Niles; Earl R. Gill, 62, Harvard Drive, Warren; Dawnita T. McCorkle, 33, Belvedere Avenue Southeast, Warren; Robert W. McCorkle, 43, Lorain Correctional Institute; Brenda J. Carpenter, 54, Laurel Street, Niles; Michael Bara, 51, Laurel Street, Niles.
Simeone said multiple counts of drug trafficking ranged from trafficking in Methadose and Oxycontin to cocaine.
