A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard and Liberty:
GIRARD
Feb. 19
Arrests: After investigating a domestic situation at a residence in the 400 block of South Davis Street, police later made three arrests at an Iowa Avenue home. Taken into custody were a woman, 22, and two men, 26 and 55, on charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing official business.
Attempted robbery: Police arrested a 27-year-old Girard man on a charge of attempted robbery after a man visiting a Summit Street residence alleged the suspect grabbed the victim and demanded money.
Feb. 20
Theft by deception: A man in the 500 block of West Liberty Street found out someone who was on his front porch was given a delivery for medications meant for the victim.
Criminal mischief: A Warren man reported three people tossed an object at his car as he was driving in the 100 block of Summit Street. He found a hole near the driver's-side door as well as a dent and damage to a side mirror.
Feb. 21
Theft: An employee at Girard IGA Super Center, 419 N. State St., reported a man, 20 to 24, grabbed $480 from a register, then fled.
Theft: A 27-year-old Mineral Ridge woman surrendered to police at Farmer's National Bank, 121 N. State St., after officers said she used someone else's ATM card to obtain $318.
Theft: Someone stole one tire each off two vehicles in the 1200 block of South State Street.
LIBERTY
Feb. 16
Assaults: Two employees at Belmont Pines Hospital, 615 Church Hill Road, reported a 16-year-old patient assaulted them.
Arrest: After stopping a vehicle for having a broken windshield, police arrested a Youngstown man, 19, wanted on a felony charge of cocaine possession. He also faced a count of obstructing official business after officers say he gave a false name.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: Youngstown police turned over a 29-year-old Youngstown woman to Liberty authorities. She was wanted on a warrant from Liberty accusing her of failing to appear in court on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Feb. 17
Theft: Police took a 48-year-old Youngstown man into custody at the Mahoning County Jail. He was wanted on a warrant charging him with theft.
Arrest: While investigating a suspicious vehicle on Logan Way, officers arrested a Girard man, 19, after learning he was wanted on charges of possession of dangerous drugs, theft and offenses involving minors.
Arrest: Authorities picked up a 27-year-old Warren woman in Howland Township who was wanted on warrants from Liberty charging her with failure to appear on one count each of theft and complicity to theft.
Recovered property: Police recovered what turned out to be a BB gun in the backpack of a pupil at E.J. Blott Middle School, 4115 Shady Road.
Aggravated menacing: An employee at Church Hill Motors, 1480 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, told police a customer made several threats after learning that the business refused to repair the brakes on a vehicle he had bought there.
Theft: A North Belle Vista Avenue man reported someone made withdrawals totaling $835 from his bank account.
Feb. 18
Arrest: After confirming a stolen vehicle at the Tallyho-tel, 4249 Belmont Ave., police apprehended a 23-year-old Youngstown man on a charge of receiving stolen property (auto). He also was wanted on a warrant accusing him of having no operator's license.
Theft: A worker at the Tallyho-tel discovered a bedspread was missing from a room.
Arrest: Officers arrested a 20-year-old Trumbull Court man at his home on charges of receiving stolen property and breaking and entering.
Vandalism: Someone tossed a rock through a vehicle's rear window in the 1200 block of Timbercrest Drive, damaging the window and the car's interior. Damage was estimated at $700.
Feb. 19
Arrest: After pulling over a car near state Route 193 and Colonial Drive, police arrested a 29-year-old Youngstown woman on charges of obstructing official business and resisting arrest as well as on a warrant charging her with theft.
Feb. 20
Vandalism: A man in the 1700 block of Naylor-Lloyd Road discovered several walls at the apartment complex there were damaged or destroyed. Damage estimate was $3,000.
