NEW CASTLE Hospital director joins state panel



NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Dr. Mohammad I. Ali, medical director of Jameson (Hospital) Sleep Study Department has accepted a personal invitation from Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett to participate on the Asian American and Pacific Advisory Committee in Harrisburg.
In an effort to reach out to the state's emerging Asian community, Corbett created the Attorney General's Asian/Pacific American Advisory Committee to advise him on matters of importance to that community.
Corbett invited Dr. Ali because of his commitment and leadership in the community. He will go to Harrisburg for the first meeting of the two-year term March 9.
The committee will focus on issues such as consumer protection and education, health care, fraud protection, illegal drugs and child predators and will reach out to the Asian Pacific community regarding services and programs offered by the attorney general's office.
Dr. Ali attended MGM Medical School in Indore, India, and served his internship and residency in internal medicine at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, and his fellowship in pulmonary disease at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He is certified by the American Board of Sleep Medicine as an ABSM diplomate, the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine in Pulmonary Disease. He oversees sleep studies at Jameson South.
He is secretary/treasurer of the Jameson Medical Dental Staff, of which he has been a member for more than 27 years and is a member of its Medical Executive Committee. His primary office is at 217 N. Jefferson St. in New Castle.
