Man accused of accidentally killing 7-month-old brother pleads innocent

WARREN -- A city man charged with accidentally killing his baby brother was arraigned Friday on charges of involuntary manslaughter and unlawful possession of a dangerous ordnance, both felonies, and using weapons while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.
David E. Young, 19, of 421 School St. N.W., pleaded innocent in front of Judge Peter Kontos of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court. He is scheduled to return to court March 8 in Judge W. Wyatt McKay's courtroom. He is free on $15,000 bond.
A blast from a shotgun Young was handling in early December penetrated a wall and hit the baby, Adam Gunter, 7 months, of the same address, in the abdomen as he slept in his crib, police said.
Robbery, felonious assault
Also arraigned Friday was Calvin Clark III, 22, of 2002 Union St. S.W., charged with aggravated robbery with a firearm specification and two counts of felonious assault with firearm specifications.
He also pleaded innocent and is scheduled for a pretrial hearing March 1 before Judge McKay. He is being held in Trumbull County Jail on $250,000 bond.
Warren police said Clark and two other men robbed a 28-year-old Swallow Street man of his pants and money at gunpoint behind the victim's house on Oct. 30.
A police report states that two of the victim's friends were shot at as they pulled into the driveway of the Swallow Street residence, and four bullets struck the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
