"DMC: My Adoption Journey" (9 p.m., VH1): Five years ago, at the age of 35, hip-hop pioneer Darryl "DMC" McDaniels made a startling discovery: He was adopted. The documentary, "DMC: My Adoption Journey," chronicles his search to track down the "other" family he never new existed.
"Mrs. Harris" (8 p.m., HBO): Annette Bening plays a desperate woman whose new diet includes dropping 200 pounds fast -- but she does it by murdering her womanizing husband.
"Kappa Mikey" (8 p.m., Nicktoons): It's the first original series on Nicktoons Network, which is also billing it as the only anime TV series created and produced in the United States, rather than Asia. On top of all that, "Kappa Mikey" is loads of fun. A cartoon show within a cartoon show, "Kappa Mikey" centers on former Cleveland-based actor Mikey Simon as he adjusts to his new role as the biggest anime star Japan has ever seen. But fame doesn't come without a price, so Mikey must figure out how to deal with mega-stardom, get along with his Japanese co-stars, and come to terms with the local culture (just finding an apartment in Tokyo is a challenge). "Kappa Mikey" premieres with back-to-back half-hours.
