Capital edges B-W for OAC women's title

BEREA -- Freshman forward Danielle Manalac scored a lay-up with 3 seconds remaining as Capital defeated Baldwin-Wallace 49-47 in the championship game of the Ohio Athletic Conf. women's basketball tournament.
The win propels ninth-ranked Capital (25-3) into the NCAA Div. III tournament.
Sara Heitkamp and Jennifer Lilly each had 12 points for Capital.
Jenn Neal and Steffani Jaworski each scored eight points for B-W (24-4).
Shawnee St. 83, Geneva 67
PORTSMOUTH -- Tara Walker shot 12-for-18 and scored 32 points to lead Shawnee St. (24-6) in a semi-final game of the American Mideast Conference.
Geneva's Jen Rawdling scored 15 points to become the school's all-time leading scorer.
Rawdling finishes her career with 1,830 points for Geneva (17-10).
Shawnee St. will play for the AMC title on Tuesday.

PAINESVILLE -- Reggie Richardson, a senior guard for the Lake Erie College basketball team from Woodrow Wilson High, scored 22 points, including the game-tying goal in regulation, while senior Chad Hunt made the winning basket in overtime, as the Storm outlasted Pitt-Greensburg, 83-82, Saturday to win the championship of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament.
Lake Erie, which won by overtime for the third time in the last four games, advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament. The pairings and sites will be announced Monday morning.
It marked the Storm's 16th straight win at the home-court Athletic Center. They also won the league's regular-season title.

Richardson, who also had eight assists, made a 3-point goal with 14 seconds left to send the game into overtime. The Storm rallied from a seven-point deficit in the last two minutes of regulation to tie the contest.
Hunt's winning goal came on a tip-in. He finished with nine points.
Freshman Darnell Campbell picked up a 13-point 15-rebound double double for the Storm, while junior Jajcen Harris had 16 points and senior Jack Lutzeier 11 points.
