Bridge work set on, near I-680

YOUNGSTOWN -- Upcoming detours and lane restrictions on and near Interstate 680 are part of a $6.9 million project to rehabilitate five bridges scheduled for completion by late fall.
Officials of Ohio Department of Transportation District 4 said the first of several detours on I-680 begins Wednesday, when the I-680 ramp to U.S. Route 62 North will be closed. The posted detour is state Route 193 to U.S. Route 422.
The Steel Street Bridge over I-680 will be restricted to one lane beginning March 27. Traffic will be maintained by a traffic signal.
The Shirley Road Bridge over I-680 will be closed beginning April 3. The posted detour will be Midlothian Boulevard to Loveland Road to Powers Way to Poland Avenue.
The Wayne-Pyatt Avenue bridge over I-680 will remain closed until late fall. Construction on the Gibson Street bridge, completed in 2005, is part of the project.
