MERCER, Pa. -- County commissioners approved updated subdivision regulations governing land development in the county's 37 municipalities that do not have their own development ordinances.
Andrew Dash, a planner with the Mercer County Regional Planning Commission, said major changes include an updated fee schedule and a new requirement for review of land developments of 10 or more residences or commercial enterprises comprising more than 40,000 square feet, or developments which disturb a set number of acres.
The land development regulations were last updated in 1995. They are available at the planning commission's Web site, www.mcrpc.com.
In other action, commissioners:
Approved a mutual-aid agreement for coroners between Mercer and other participating counties to provide reciprocal emergency services in case of a disaster.
Renewed a contract with the Hay Group Inc., Philadelphia, to provide actuarial services for the county pension plan this year for $21,432.
Hired Hersh Exterminating Service Inc., Sharon, to provide pest control service for the county jail for $100 per month.
Authorized advertising for proposals for engineering services for replacement of the parking lot adjacent to the Mercer District Justice building.
Hired Shingledecker's Welding, Franklin, for repairs on two bridges on West Lake Road and one on East Lake Road, all in South Pymatuning Township, and on Lincoln Avenue, Grove City, for a total $179,052. Shingledecker's submitted the lowest of three bids. Work will begin April 3 and be completed May 26, said county Engineer Mark Miller.
