CELEBRATIONS
Niles Gymanfa Ganu Association will hold an annual St. David's Day banquet Sunday at the McKinley Memorial Auditorium, 40 Main St., Niles. There will be a social hour at 2:30 p.m. featuring punch, Welsh cakes and bara brith, followed by dinner at 3. Entertainment will be provided by Kirk Kupensky, harpist; Megan Morris, WNGGA Eisteddfod winner; and Geraint Wilkes, Welsh tenor. The cost is $16 for beef sirloin dinners, $15 for stuffed chicken breast dinners and $8 for a child's dinner of chicken tenders. A St. David's Day celebration will be held Saturday at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 2434 Wilmington Road, New Castle, Pa. Featured will be a social at 3 p.m., a Gymanfa Ganu conducted by Geraint Wilkes and Welsh songs by the family of the Rev. Douglas Hughes at 4 and dinner at 5. Meals include leek soup, salad, prime rib of beef, new potatoes, vegetable, rolls and homemade Welsh desserts. The cost is $18. Dinner reservations are required by today. RAFFLES
Holy Family Home and School Alliance will hold a reverse raffle beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at The Georgetown, 5945 South Ave., Boardman. Tickets are $75 and include the raffle, dinner at 7:30 and an open bar. An additional dinner ticket can be purchased for $25 when a raffle ticket is purchased. The grand prize is $3,500. TRIPS
Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild is sponsoring a bus trip March 17 to the Cleveland Sewing Expo at the I-X Center. Pickups will be at Niles Super K at 6:30 a.m. and at Champion Big Lots at 6:45. The bus fee is $23 for members and $26 for nonmembers. Those participating are responsible for entrance and class fees and for dinner on the return trip. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come basis until March 5. WORKSHOPS
Holy Trinity and St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Churches CCD Groups will hold a Ukrainian Easter Egg (Pysanka) workshop beginning at noon Saturday at St. Anne Church Social Hall, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown.
