Mount Union 75, Otterbein 72
ALLIANCE -- Kyle Karpinski scored 20 points and Mount Union wasted a 10-point lead before rallying. Mount Union (7-18, 6-12 Ohio Athletic Conference) pulled ahead 63-53 with 5 minutes left, then missed four shots and had a pair of turnovers that let the lead slip away. Otterbein (12-13, 8-10) tied it at 69 on Ross Banaszak's 3-pointer with 1:02 to play. Karpinski's layup with 36 seconds left regained the lead for Mount Union, which made four of its five free throws in the final 16 seconds to hold on.
Hiram 82, Denison 80
HIRAM -- A.J. White made a pair of free throws with 27 seconds left, sending Hiram to victory. Hiram (4-21, 2-14 North Coast) overcame an eight-point deficit in the second half. T.C. Spencer scored 18 points, leading four players in double figures. Denison (10-15, 6-10) tied it at 80 on Dan Hodgkinson's layup with 43 seconds left, but he missed a free throw that could have completed a three-point play. After White's two free throws put Hiram ahead, Denison's Dan Izzo missed a 3-pointer with 9 seconds left. Spencer got the rebound to clinch it.
Capital 76, Baldwin-Wallace 71
COLUMBUS-- Nate Stahl scored 24 points, helping Capital rally over Baldwin-Wallace. Capital (12-12, 9-9 OAC) trailed by 12 points at halftime, but shot 50 percent from the field in the second half to pull it out. Jake Meisler added 10 points and 10 rebounds for Capital. Tori Davis had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead Baldwin-Wallace (22-4, 15-3), which was only 2-of-11 from behind the 3-point arc in the second half.
Wittenberg 87, Allegheny 58
SPRINGFIELD-- Kenny Brady scored 16 points, leading a balanced attack that swept Wittenberg to victory over Allegheny. Wittenberg (22-3, 13-3 North Coast) finished second in the conference's regular season. Dane Borchers added 15 points and a team-high eight rebounds for Wittenberg, which never trailed. Wittenberg had four players in double figures and pulled away by going 20-of-28 from the field in the second half -- 72.4 percent. Allegheny (11-13, 7-9) had 17 turnovers and only one player in double figures. Ben Torsney scored 10.
Grove City 76, Washington & amp; Jefferson 56
GROVE CITY, PA. -- Ryan Gerber and Joe Capotosta scored 18 and 16 points for the Eagles (9-16, 5-7 Presidents Athletic Conference). The Presidents are 10-15, 8-4.
Westminster 94, Waynesburg 82
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Sophomore guard Craig Hannon (New Castle/Union High) paced four double-digit scorers with a team-high 29 points as the Titans 10-15, 7-5 PAC) clinched the third seed for the conference tournament. Mark DeMonaco (New Castle) finished with 24 points while dishing out eight assists. Other double-digit Titan scorers were sophomore forward Chauncey Whitlow (Youngstown/Wilson) with 17 points and Brian Fadden (New Castle/Mohawk) with 10 points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
Shippensburg 77, Slippery Rock 34
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- Brandon Thompson led The Rock (2-24, 1-0 PSACW) with 12 points.
Geneva 66, Roberts Weseylan 63
ROCHESTER, Pa. -- The victory sends the Golden Tornadoes (14-14, 6-8 American Mideast Conference) to the playoffs as the fifth seed and eliminates the Raiders (16-13, 6-8). Geneva won the tiebreaker by defeating Roberts Weseylan both times they played. Greg McDivitt led the Golden Tornadoes with 17 points. Nate Conley had 13 points and 10 assists while Kyle McDermott scored 12. For the Raiders, Alfonso Evans scored 17 points. Geneva will play at either Seton Hill or Point Park when the playoffs begin on Tuesday.
WOMEN
Shippensburg 65, Slippery Rock 49
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- Caitlin MacPherson's 20 points led Shippensburg (12-13, 2-8 PSACW) to victory. Megan Fogle scored 15. For The Rock (13-13, 5-6), Kristen Bonner and Angela Greaser scored 12 and 11 points. With one game to play, SRU is tied with Lock Haven for the league's final playoff berth.
Washington & amp; Jefferson 71, Grove City 60
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Leigh Sulkowski scored 22 points and Amanda Stanonik 15 for the Presidents (20-4, 10-2 Presidents Athletic Conference). Tammy Hess' 20 points led Grove City (7-18, 3-9).
Geneva 75, Roberts Weseylan 69
GENEVA, Pa. -- The Golden Tornadoes (16-9, 13-5 AMC North) opened up a 31-point lead then hung on for dear life.. NAIA leading scorer Judy Wright scored 35 of Weseylan's final 47 points as a 53-22 lead all but evaporated. Wright finished with 45 points. Jen Rawding led Geneva with 19 points while Allyson Clarke had 18 points and 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double. Ali Cananzi scored 11. The Golden Tornadoes will opened the postseason at home on Tuesday against Seton Hill.
Kenyon 68, Hiram 42
HIRAM -- Brittany Clair scored 16 points and Katy Zeanah 12 for Kenyon (19-6, 11-5 Ohio Athletic Conference). Brandie Turner led the Terriers (8-16, 3-13) with 17 points while Cassie Bedard had 11.
Waynesburg 65, Westminster 62
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Junior guard Desiree Sterling (Newton Falls) became the seventh 1,000-point scorer in Westminster women's basketball history, but it wasn't enough as the Titans (7-18, 4-8 PAC) lost a league game. Waynesburg College is 13-12, 5-7. Westminster is the sixth seed for the PAC tournament and will play at third seed Thiel College Tuesday at 7 p.m. Sterling scored 16 points while Emilee Ackerman led the Titans with 18.
Otterbein 67, Mount Union 56
WESTERVILLE -- Kyla Hogan's 20 points weren't enough for the Purple Raiders (13-12, 8-10 OAC). Lauren Friedrich scored 15 and Alicia Williams had 12. Otterbein is 18-7, 12-6.
