"Go, Kinky" (11 p.m., CMT): He's a humorist, musician, author and proud Jewish cowboy. And since February 2005, when he began an improbable run for governor of Texas, Kinky Friedman is also an unlikely politician. Now an hourlong special, "Go Kinky," follows him along the campaign trail. The film also features his friends and designated future Cabinet members including Willie Nelson, Dwight Yoakam and Delbert McClinton. Calling himself a "leader for the little fellers, not the Rockefellers," the independent candidate and political amateur sums up his qualifications with impressive candor: "I can't screw things up any worse than they already are." His campaign slogan assesses the job he's seeking even more bluntly: "How hard can it be?"
"Nature: True Adventures of the Ultimate Spider-Hunter" (10 p.m., PBS): Despite his superhero powers, the real Spider-Man can't compare to the tarantulas spotlighted by Martin Nicholas. A spider authority and water treatment engineer, Nicholas travels the world to examine the web-spinners. In the rain forests of French Guiana, home of the world's biggest spider, and the caves of Southern Mexico, where one of the most bizarre tarantula species on Earth resides, Nicholas' "spider-cam" is on the scene. In addition, he swaps stories with artist Stan Lee, creator of Spider-Man.
"Battlestar Galactica" (10 p.m., SciFi): Lee Adama works alongside the increasingly unstable new commander of the Pegasus when a Raptor scouting party suddenly goes missing.
