Game notes: The Penguins snapped a two-game losing streak on Monday with a 72-54 victory over Cleveland State on the road. Senior Ashlee Russo led the Penguins with 16 points, while freshman Monique Godfrey had a career-high 15 points in the win. Sophomore center Jessica Schloemp added a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds, her fourth of the season. The Phoenix have posted a 13-2 record in their last 15 games, but both losses have come against UW-Milwaukee; the most recent was Monday night in Milwaukee 65-55. Those two teams are currently tied for first place in the Horizon League standings at 10-2. The Phoenix' Nicole Soulis leads the conference in scoring, averaging 18.1 points a game.
Next up: The Penguins play at UW-Milwaukee on Saturday night at 8 p.m. YSU's regular season finale will be Feb. 23 at home against Loyola at 7:05 p.m.
