Hearing to determine Felasco's spot on board

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- A hearing to determine whether Gary Felasco will be removed from the Lawrence County Housing Authority has been scheduled for 9 a.m. April 21 before visiting senior Judge Michael Wherry.
County commissioners went to Lawrence County Common Pleas Court on Monday to ask for the removal of Felasco, who is the county's elected treasurer and a member of the housing authority.
He was suspended from the authority board by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development late last year, pending the outcome of criminal charges filed by the Pennsylvania attorney general. He is accused of taking more than $40,000 from the county tax office for his personal use.
County commissioners contend Felasco is unable to participate on the board and should be removed.
Felasco has not returned calls for comment.
