CANFIELD
Feb. 6
Theft: Police arrested a 29-year-old Youngstown man for violating traffic laws near Perkins Restaurant on West Main Street and charged his passenger, a 41-year-old Youngstown man, with shoplifting at Giant Eagle, 525 E. Main St. Police said the second man stole 10 steaks with a total value of $79.63.
Theft: A video projector worth $3,650 was stolen from Canfield Middle School sometime between Feb. 3 and Feb. 6. The projector had been secured with a cable and lock to a stand.
Counterfeit money: A counterfeit $20 bill was passed at the drive-through window at McDonald's, 586 E. Main St.
Feb. 7
Pursuit: Police noticed a vehicle, reported stolen, being driven recklessly on Akron-Canfield Road. Police chased the vehicle to an address at Berlin Station Road, where the female passenger was apprehended and the male driver ran behind a garage. The K-9 pursuit caught the 21-year-old Warren man behind another house on the street. He was charged with possession of criminal tools and a stolen red Mongoose bicycle and receiving stolen property, which included clothing and furs. The vehicle he was driving was turned over to Weathersfield police. It was reported stolen from Jarrett's Auto Sales, 3610 Main St., Mineral Ridge.
Feb. 9
Broken windshield: A female employee reported the back windshield of her car was broken out at Star Extruded Shapes, 7055 Herbert Road.
Drug abuse: Police arrested a 19-year-old Berlin Center student at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center and charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia, drug abuse and obtaining and possessing drugs. A teacher at the center's Precision Machine Lab class saw the student changing out of his work clothes for class and saw he had a bag of suspected marijuana.
Feb. 10
Drug abuse: Police charged a 51-year-old Youngstown man with drug abuse and obtaining and possessing drugs after police found him in possession of the remnants of a suspected marijuana cigarette on West Main Street.
Theft: A four-wheel vehicle was stolen from a home in the 100 block of Surry Lane. Other items, including a trailer, also were taken.
Feb. 11
Drug paraphernalia: Police charged a 51-year-old Canfield man with drug abuse and obtaining and possessing drug paraphernalia at Giant Eagle, 525 E. Main St. Police said they found a tin containing rolling papers and suspected marijuana.
Drug paraphernalia: Police charged an 18-year-old Salem man for possession of drug paraphernalia and suspected marijuana. Police said he had a pipe that contained suspected marijuana residue. Police also charged a 19-year-old Salem man with drug abuse for possession of a small bag of suspected marijuana. The arrests were at West Main Street and Industrial Park.
AUSTINTOWN
Feb. 6
Criminal damage: A vehicle was damaged at a home in the 6000 block of Smith Street.
Criminal damage: Damage to an Austintown police car was reported at the Econo-Lodge, Seventy-Six Drive.
Theft: Blank prescriptions were stolen from a doctor's office at Trumbull-Mahoning Medical Group, 20 Ohltown Road.
Criminal damage: Damage to an apartment by a former tenant was reported in the 100 block of South Raccoon Road.
Theft: Money was taken from an account at a home in the 100 block of Fitch Boulevard.
Obstructing official business: Police took a man to Mahoning County jail after they charged him with obstructing official business at a home in the 5000 block of West Webb Road.
Feb. 7
Theft: Police charged a man with theft after they said he took an item from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Forest Hill Drive.
Theft: Coins were stolen from a vehicle parked at a home in the 100 block of Carnegie Avenue.
Theft: Coins were taken from a vehicle parked at a home in the 30 block of South Navarre Avenue.
Theft: An employee is a suspect in a theft at Dollar General, 1739 S. Raccoon Road.
Theft: Three gold necklaces were stolen from a vehicle parked at a home in the 3000 block of Huntmere Avenue.
Criminal damage: A vehicle's plastic window was cut while parked at a home in the 3000 block of Oakleigh Street.
Theft: A portable CD player was stolen from a vehicle parked at a home in the 3000 block of Oakleigh Avenue.
Attempted theft: Damage was done to the dashboard around the radio on a vehicle parked at a home in the 50 block of North Four Mile Run Road.
Drug offense: Police charged an Austintown man with possession of drug paraphernalia for carrying a pipe with suspected residue in it. He was arrested at state Route 46 and Colgate Drive.
Stolen plates: A rear license plate was stolen from a vehicle parked at a home in the 4000 block of Kirk Road.
Theft: A phone was taken at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.
Feb. 8
Theft: A backpack, cell phone, calculator and checkbook were stolen from a vehicle parked at on North Edgehill Drive.
Theft: A saxophone was stolen from Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.
Theft: Someone stole a purse from a person at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.
Feb. 9
Theft: A digital camera was stolen from an apartment in the 50 block of Westminster Avenue.
Theft: Meats and seafood were stolen from Rulli Bros., 4331 Kirk Road. The suspect is a female in her 40s.
Theft: Money was taken from an account at Home Savings & amp; Loan, 6030 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A musical instrument was stolen from Fitch High School.
Burglary: Forced entry was made to an apartment on Wilcox Road, and jewelry was taken.
Theft: A cell phone was stolen from a vehicle parked at a home in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.
Drug offense: Police arrested a Youngstown man on charges of drug abuse and drug paraphernalia after police found a small bag of suspected marijuana and rolling papers on him at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Niles-Canfield Road.
Theft: Prescription medication was stolen from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home in the 100 block of Carnegie Avenue.
Feb. 10
Criminal damage: Lawn damage was found in three areas at apartments in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.
Theft: An AM-FM CD in-dash unit was stolen with damage done to the dashboard from an auto parked at Cosmos Grillery, 1722 S. Raccoon Road.
Criminal damage: About 400 feet of lawn damage was caused by a vehicle near the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.
Criminal damage: A vehicle was struck with a pellet from a paint ball gun in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.
Auto theft: A 2006 silver, four-door Pontiac G-6 was stolen from a home in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.
Theft: A window was broken on an auto and a CD/DVD player and an amplifier stolen from a vehicle parked at a home in the 3000 block of South Raccoon Road.
Attempted theft: A steering column was damaged on a vehicle parked at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.
Auto theft: A blue 1996 Buick Century was stolen from a residence in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.
Theft: Altogether, 60 cigarettes were stolen from BP gas station, 890 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Theft: Forty-seven bottles of washer fluid, two bottles of antifreeze and 50 bags of mulch were stolen over the last 90 days from the same BP gas station.
Stolen plate: The rear license plate was stolen from a vehicle parked at a home in the 1000 block of Mulberrry Road.
Fraud: Money was removed from a checking account at a home in the 300 block of Chaucer Lane.
Theft: Musical instruments were stolen from Frank Ohl Middle School, 255 Idaho Road.
Drug offense: Police charged an Austintown man with possession of marijuana after his arrest at Mahoning Avenue and North Raccoon Road.
Burglary: A DVD player and several DVDs were taken from Austintown Inn, 5431 Seventy-Six Drive.
Feb. 11
Drug offense: Police charged a Youngstown man with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after his arrest at North Meridian Road and Interstate 680.
Burglary: An electric stove was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of New Road.
Criminal damage: Two juveniles are suspects in damage to a home in the 300 block of Idlewood Road.
Feb. 12
Theft: Police arrested a man on a theft charge at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.
