Chaney drops Campbell; Rayen loses in double OT
Struthers and Niles each won non-league games.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Brittainny Cobb scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Monday to lead the Chaney High girls basketball team to a 49-38 victory over Campbell.
Jamie Soos added 10 points for the Cowgirls (5-13) while Camara Watson had eight points and five assists. Kayla Griffin had nine points and eight steals.
Danielle Bell had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Campbell (2-17).
Akron Central Hower 54,Rayen 49, 2 OT
AKRON -- Kenysha Tennant scored 20 points and added seven steals for the Tigers (11-7), who were outscored 6-1 in the second overtime.
Brittney Taylor added 14 points, six steals and five assists while Tieara Jones added 11 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots.
Shavonda Davis had 20 points and seven rebounds for Central Hower (14-6), while Ashlea Williams had 19 points and 16 rebounds.
Struthers 55, Wilson 35
YOUNGSTOWN -- Ashley Galbraith had 22 points and nine rebounds and Liz Valerio added 11 points and seven assists for Struthers.
For Wilson, Marcinde North had 12 points and four assists, while Lyesha Dixon added eight points and 12 rebounds.
Niles 53, Girard 34
GIRARD -- Nina Gabrelcik scored 14 points and Jessica Pallante added 12 for Niles, which outscored the Indians 22-8 in the second quarter to take control.
Brittany Palmer scored eight points to lead Girard (2-17).
