Arnauts feted on anniversary at Mass, dinner



XYOUNGSTOWN -- The 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Leo V. Arnaut of Youngstown was celebrated Saturday as the couple were honored at a private Mass and during a family dinner party at the home of a granddaughter and her husband, Jaime and Sean Connolly of Austintown.
Arrangements for the festivities were completed by their children, Billy Arnaut, Sharon Clementi, Peg Fossesco and Colleen Joerndt, all of Youngstown. Participating were their six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Arnaut and the former Margaret A. Beake were married Feb. 16, 1946, at the Chapel of Friendly Bells.
Mr. Arnaut served with the U.S. Army at St. Lo, France, in the D-Day invasion during World War II and received a Purple Heart. He was a foreman in the electric weld and tube division of Republic Steel Corp. prior to retiring in 1977 after 35 years of service. He is a member of St. Patrick Church and has been an avid golfer with several area leagues.
Mrs. Arnaut is a homemaker.
