XYOUNGSTOWN -- St. Christine Church was the setting Dec. 31 as Nicole Gennaro and Keith Poynter Jr., both of Stow, were united in marriage during a 5:30 p.m. ceremony solemnized by the Rev. Michael Weikert.
The daughter of Rocco and Peggy Gennaro of Boardman and the son of Keith Sr. and Gloria Poynter of Fremont accepted congratulations during a reception in their honor at the Regency House in Austintown.
After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple live in Stow.
The bride's white satin A-line gown featured a tank-style bodice and a chapel train, and was enhanced with caviar beading. A crystal and pearl tiara held her veil, and she carried a bouquet of red roses and white stephanotis.
Wearing apple-red gowns were Michelle Koons of Toledo, the bride's sister and honor attendant, and Alisha Shields of Toledo, the bridesmaid.
Thomas Shields of Toledo was best man, and Christopher Koons of Toledo, the bride' brother-in-law, was groomsman. Ring bearer was Alexander Poynter of Fremont, the groom's nephew.
The bride, a school counselor at Bellefaire Jewish Children's Board in Shaker Heights, graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degrees in psychology and social work. She is pursuing a master's in counseling at the University of Akron.
The groom, a corrections officer with Ohio Department of Youth Services in Highland Hills, is pursuing a degree in business finance at Kent State University
