PROMOTIONS
Air Force staff sergeant
Air Force Staff Sgt. Brandon Woodruff, recently deployed for his second tour of duty in the desert for Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, was promoted to his current rank while serving with the 55th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.
Woodruff, who recently graduated from Airman Leadership School, is the son of Diane Hunter-Copeland and Ron Copeland of Austintown, and is a 2001 graduate of Ursuline High School.
DEPLOYED
Operation Iraqi Freedom
Army Reserve Maj. Jack F. Emch is currently deployed overseas at a forward-operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. An emergency room intensive care registered nurse, he is regularly assigned to the 256th Combat Support Hospital in Cleveland. Emch graduated in 1971 from Girard High School and received a bachelor's degree in 1995 from Youngstown State University.

Air Force: Airman 1st Class Jessica L. Berresford (East Palestine High School, '04), daughter of Lon and Connie Berresford of East Palestine.
Army: Pvt. Tom P. McMahon (Red Rock Job Corps Center, Pa., '04), grandson of Jesse McMahon of Greenville, Pa.; Reserve Pvt. Brandon Weaver, son of Susan Weaver of Fowler.
