Mount Union wins consolation of the Cactus Jam tourney
Ryan Gerber's career night led Grove City past Wright State-Lake in overtime.
PHOENIX -- Sam King and Stu Anglum scored 16 points each to lead Mount Union over Linfield (Ore.), 73-67, in the consolation round of the Cactus Jam Tournament.
The Purple Raiders (6-5) won two of three games in the tournament. They shot 51 percent (25-of-49) from the floor Saturday and went 16-of-18 at the free throw line.
Payton Brooks led Linfield (5-6) with 17 points, while Steve Taylor and Andy Baldwin added 11 apiece. Baldwin also had 11 rebounds.
Grove City 87,Wright State-Lake 77, OT
BLUFFTON -- Ryan Gerber scored a career-high 27 points to lead the Wolverines in the consolation game of the Bluffton McDonald's Tournament.
Joe McCoy added 18 points and Ryan Gibson scored 14 for Grove City (4-6), which trailed 36-28 at halftime before rallying for a 72-all tie at the end of regulation.
Travis VanSkyock led Wright State-Lake (6-12) with 22 points. Chad Miller added 15.
St. Norbert (Wis.) 79, Geneva 69
DANVILLE, Ky. -- Geneva made just 7-of-20 shots in the first half in losing the consolation game of the Centre (Ky.) Tournament.
Jermaine Ferguson led the Golden Tornadoes (7-7) with 23 points, while Kyle McDermott added 19 and Greg McDivitt had 12. Geneva trailed 41-21 at halftime.
St. Norbert (3-6) was led by Eric Gruenwald with 17 points, Tony Jadron with 15 and Tom Katzfey with 11.
Kalamazoo (Mich.) 89, Hiram 81
WESTERVILLE -- Ian McGuire led Hiram with 18 points in the consolation game of the Otterbein Classic.
Michael McDevitt added 17 points and a game-high nine rebounds for the Terriers (2-7), who trailed 38-33 at halftime. Hiram scored 48 points in the second half but was still outscored by three.
Mat Kellogg and Tyler Worst led five double-figure scorers for Kalamazoo (2-7) with 16 points each.
Mercyhurst 86, Slippery Rock 61
ERIE, Pa. -- Glenn Reepmeyer had 13 points and nine rebounds for Slippery Rock (3-9), which suffered from a myriad of problems.
The Rock shot 45.5 percent (20-of-44), but was outrebounded, 39-24, committed 17 turnovers and allowed Mercyhurst to shoot 51.7 percent (30-of-58) from the floor.
Joseph Vines added 11 points for Slippery Rock, while Kenny Smith scored 10.
Shelby Chaney led Mercyhurst (10-3) with 18 points and 15 rebounds.
York 83, Thiel 71, OT
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- Joe Hermann scored 30 points and had 13 rebounds, both game highs, but Thiel was outscored 21-9 in overtime in the consolation game of the Wittenberg Zimmerman Classic.
Brandon Mirizio (Kennedy Catholic) added 19 points for the Tomcats (3-7).
York (7-5) had four players score in double figures. Dennis Echols had 29 points and Jeffrey Boone added 24.
Westminster 98, Marietta 73
MARIETTA -- Ryne Murray had team-highs of 23 points and 11 rebounds as the Titans (7-5) won the championship of the Marietta Shrine Tournament.
Murray was named tournament MVP.
Dom Joseph, also named to the all-tournament team, added 15 points, and Nick Adams scored 13 for the Titans, who led 55-33 at halftime by shooting 60 percent (20-of-33).
Isaiah Creasap scored 25 points and Tyler Morando added 12 for Marietta (4-6).
Walsh 79, Windsor 70
NORTH CANTON -- Eighteenth-ranked Walsh (12-3) shot 45 percent from the floor to win its seventh straight game.
Walsh had five players with double-digit points, led by Brandon Speck with 15 points. Eric Love added 13 points and eight rebounds. while Derek Chappell and Adam Lesch both scored 11. Corey Jones finished with 12 points.

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas -- Allegheny shot just 31 percent from the floor in a 65-48 loss to Messiah (Pa.) in the championship game of the South Padre Island Shootout.
Stepanie Wolf led the Gators (9-2) with nine points, while Megan Vasilisin added eight and Jennifer Latronica seven. Latronica was named to the all-tournament team.
Nicki Lobach led Messiah (9-1) with 19 points, while Amy Reed and Ashley Brooks scored 12 apiece.
Mount Union 82,North Central (Ill.) 71, OT
DELAWARE, Ohio -- Alicia Williams scored 21 points and had 14 rebounds, both game-highs, to lead Mount Union (5-6) in the consolation game of the Ohio Wesleyan Bishop Classic.
Lauren Friedrich (Kennedy Catholic) added 14 points for the Purple Raiders, who led 31-28 at halftime. Meghan Simons finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.
Brianne Parra led North Central (1-10) with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Indiana Wesleyan 86, Malone 55
CANTON -- Unbeaten Indiana Wesleyan shot 67.4 percent (31-of-46) from the floor.
Stephanie Culp led IWC (17-0), ranked No. 1 in NAIA Division II, with 29 points, while Liz Howerth added 23.
Nikki Parson and Cara Shiplett scored 13 and 11 points, respectively, for Malone (10-6), which trailed 37-22 at halftime.
Point Park 68, Grove City 66
PITTSBURGH -- Point Park rallied from a five-point halftime deficit to even its record at 5-5.
Brittney Wilson scored 22 points and Charlissa Cummins had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Point Park, which trailed 34-29 at the intermission.
Elyse Bogusz scored 16 points to lead Grove City (2-8), while Shannon Overdorff added 14. Brittany Anderson finished with 11.

NORTH CANTON -- Chrissy Summers scored a career-high 13 points to lead Walsh (3-9).
Brittani Maddox added 12 points and nine rebounds and Leah Seaman scored 10.
