Basic education classes
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Mercer, Lawrence and Butler County residents over age 16 can attend Adult Basic Education classes sponsored by Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV free of charge. The classes, held in various locations in the three counties, are designed for those who want to learn how to read, write or speak English or develop other basic skills. Students may also use the classes to prepare to take the General Educational Development (GED) test to obtain a high school equivalency diploma. Instruction is individualized, so students can register at any time just be attending a class. For information on class meeting times and locations, call (724) 458-6700, Ext. 238. Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV is the educational service agency for public schools in the three counties.
