A look at the sales and profit figures of private party fundraisers the day of the Nov. 18 matchup between No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Michigan and some of the events' biggest expenses:
HINEYGATE
Sales: 245,723.
Profits (benefiting Charity Newsies, which clothes needy school kids): 26,151.
Expenses: 28,392 for beer, 16,681 for security, 13,060 for labor, 10,250 for a band, 960 for portable toilets, 844 for ice and 160 for the nonprofit liquor permit making the party possible.
RALLY AT RIVERWATCH
Sales: 100,074.
Profits (benefiting St. Joan of Arc Knights of Columbus): 9,299.
Expenses: 26,973 for beer, 8,700 for a band, 8,409 for Columbus police, 3,940 for barricades and fences, 2,023 for portable toilets and 150 for the liquor permit.
VARSITY CLUB
Sales: 81,480.
Profits: loss of 3,472. The event donated 2,000 to Neighborhood Services, a food pantry.
Expenses: 24,820 for beer, 10,653 for security, 1,200 for bartenders, 760 for street cleanup, 549 to rent a large trash bin and 160 for the liquor permit.
