Dec. 24
Assault: A North St. Clair Avenue woman told officers a McDonald man, 34, poked her in the throat with his finger and threatened to kill her during an argument about Christmas gifts.
Criminal damaging: A man in the 400 block of Parkview Avenue reported someone used a vehicle to damage an 8-foot section of a chain-link fence.
Theft: A neighbor reported seeing someone removing gutters and spouting from a garage in the 300 block of Taylor Street. The theft was estimated at 500.
Theft: A Youngstown woman discovered a wallet missing from her purse while in the 500 block of Church Hill Road.
Criminal mischief: A woman in the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue called authorities after someone struck her car several times, placing dents in its hood, doors, roof, trunk and fenders, and used a bottle to break a rear window.

Identity fraud: An East Main Street man told police he had lost his wallet and later discovered more than 2,000 worth of fraudulent charges were made with two credit cards.
Theft: A Park Avenue woman came out of Rite Aid Pharmacy, 713 N. State St., and realized someone had taken her 500 dog from her vehicle.
Assault: A man reported a 16-year-old East Prospect Street boy was assaulted; the victim said a Girard girl, 16, struck him in the face during an argument.

Criminal damaging: Three lighted reindeer decorations were damaged in a front yard in the 200 block of East Second Street.
Theft: An East Howard Street man said another man borrowed and failed to return his cellular phone.

Dec. 20
Assault: A Warren woman reported being assaulted while visiting a residence in the 10 block of Holly Drive. She had redness on her forehead.
Assault: A North Gate Road man told police a Youngstown man assaulted him. The victim had a cut below his left eye as well as swelling.
Arrest: Officers arrested a man staying at the Tallyho-tel, 4249 Belmont Ave., who was wanted on felony charges of parole violation and escape. No information about the man's age or city was in the report.
Criminal damaging: A Paxton Drive man discovered a BB gun was used to shoot his residence and his vehicle's front and rear windshields and passenger-side windows.
Theft: Charges were pending against a 15-year-old Girard boy accused of initially refusing to return iPods he borrowed from two pupils at W.S. Guy Middle School, 4115 Shady Road. The items were returned to their owners.
Dec. 21
Theft: Warren police handed over to Liberty authorities a 19-year-old Youngstown man wanted on a warrant from Liberty charging him with theft and criminal trespassing.
Theft: A man discovered 10 personal checks had been removed from a checkbook at his home in the 2400 block of Northview Drive and fraudulently written for a total of about 990.
Criminal damaging: A woman in the 1300 block of West Montrose Street found out someone broke into her Jeep and caused damage of 200 to its glove compartment and the center console area.
Arrest: A 24-year-old Youngstown man wanted on several warrants was apprehended in the 4700 block of East Drive and faced additional charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. The man initially came to the Liberty Police Department to surrender but ran away, authorities said.
Criminal damaging: Someone used a vehicle to hit and cause an estimated 250 worth of damage to a hand rail at a home in the 200 block of Colonial Drive.

Drug paraphernalia: Police cited a 36-year-old Youngstown man on charges of possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia, having an open container of alcohol, driving under suspension and displaying fictitious license plates after pulling him over near Colonial Drive and Fifth Avenue. A straw with suspected drug residue and a hypodermic needle were found, officers said.
Recovered property: An employee of the Liberty Township Road Department found a safe in a drainage ditch in the 100 block of Liberty Street.
Vehicle theft: A man reported the theft of his 1988 Dodge Caravan from his residence in the 1300 block of West Montrose Street.
Forgery: A Youngstown woman told police she gave a Youngstown man her automated-teller-machine card to transfer money into her account at Charter One Bank, 4333 Belmont Ave., and was later notified that the account had a negative balance of 8,000. The victim learned someone had apparently forged her signature on a check before depositing it in Hermitage, Pa.
