Day of events set for Dann's swearing-in

WARREN — Marc Dann, a Cleveland native and Liberty attorney, will be sworn in as Ohio’s 47th attorney general at a 10 a.m. ceremony Jan. 8 at Trumbull County Courthouse.

“This will be a proud but humbling day for me,” said Dann, a state senator since 2003. “I and my team have been given a great honor by the voters, and I promise not to let them down.

“We have assembled a talented and experienced group of people who will work hard with me every day to put into action the words of our campaign: efficient, responsive, open government, consumer protection, integrity.”

Dann will be sworn in by Judge William O’Neill of the 11th District Court of Appeals in courtroom 3. A luncheon will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex, Liberty, where Dann will deliver his inaugural address.

At 3 p.m., Dann will attend a symposium of northeast Ohio high school students in the Ohio room of Kilcawley Center at Youngstown State University.

The symposium is titled “Rule of Law and Civic Engagement.”
