"Edward Scissorhands," the strange parable of a movie made by Tim Burton, has been turned into a stage production that recently completed its London run, where it opened, and is now on a 12-city North American tour. The Ohio RV Supershow opens Wednesday and runs through Jan. 7 at the I-X Center in Cleveland. Dirt bike daredevils will fly through the air at Chevrolet Centre when the Freestyle Motocross show comes to town for two shows, Feb. 2 and 3. Fourteen riders will perform stunts off ramps, launching man and machine up to 40 feet in the air and landing on dirt ramps. The show actually consists of three parts: freestyle ramp stunts, a skills competition and a longer freestyle session for the eight finalists. Show time is 7:30 p.m. both nights, and tickets are on sale at the box office and at Gettix.net.
"Steel Citizen" is a spoof on Pittsburgh in the form of a television newscast. With a motto of "Faking news and breaking names," the show, part of the Pittsburgh CLO Late Night entertainment series, skewers politicians and their misdeeds. "Steel Citizen" will be staged Jan. 12 at 10 p.m. at the Cabaret at Theater Square, 655 Penn Ave., downtown Pittsburgh.
