Murvays mark 60th anniversary by renewing vows

BERLIN CENTER -- Mr. and Mrs. John Murvay of Berlin Center celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Nov. 22 by renewing their vows at St. Catherine Church in Lake Milton, where they are members.
A dinner in honor of the occasion was held in early December with members of their family in attendance.
The couple's family includes their daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Doug Garmon of Kent and Juliana and John Dennis of Norwell, Mass. Two granddaughters complete their family.
Mr. Murvay and the former Margaret Paulisinetz were married Nov. 16, 1946, at Holy Trinity Church in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. They settled in Freedom Township and were owners of the Dew Drop Inn. Mrs. Murvay was also employed by the Ohio Department of Transportation and later the Ravenna Arsenal.
The couple then moved to Berlin Center during the 1960s, where they operated the Anchor Inn next to the Berlin Reservoir.
Mr. Murvay retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in which he was assigned to the Berlin Dam and Reservoir. He was previously employed by Goodyear Aerospace in Akron in maintenance at the Goodyear Blimp hangar.
