Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown, will sponsor SilverSneakers Yoga, a gentle stretching program for seniors, at 10 a.m. Jan. 3 at the center. Also offered will be an exercise class for SilverSneakers participants at 10 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and a senior water-exercise class from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. SilverSneakers is a free health and wellness program for older adults with Anthem Senior Advantage, Medicare Preferred and Blue Access PPO, as well as Humana Gold Choice and Choice PPO insurance plans. Park Vista Breakfast Club is sponsoring a talk on "Beating the Blues" by Vivian Barricella, education director at Park Vista Retirement Community, at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 18. Discussion will be on depression, how it is diagnosed and how to combat it. The event will take place in the gathering room at Park Vista, 1216 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, and will include a continental breakfast. The program is free and open to the public.
