Lowellville drops Crestview

LOWELLVILLE -- Kristen Pallozzi tossed in 17 points, including four 3-point goals, while Alison Grapevine added 14 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Lowellville High girls basketball team to a 57-46 win over previously-unbeaten Crestview, 57-46, in an Inter-Tri-County League game Tuesday.
Kaitlin McCarthy chipped in with 13 points and six assists while Jacque Schrader had nine points to aid the Rockets (7-1), who carried a 31-28 lead into the last quarter.
Chelsea Bowker scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to pace Crestview (5-1), while Elyse Mongillo added 11 points and five assists.
Jackson-Milton 44, Mineral Ridge 34
NORTH JACKSON -- Carrie Fiol had 14 points and six assists while Alyssa Chine had 11 points with four rebounds and Jessica Balent 10 points to lead Jackson-Milton (6-1, 4-0 ITCL).
Scarlett Chepke had five rebounds and Elizabeth Hughes four to aid the Bluejays.
Heather Reinhart scored 17 points to spark Mineral Ridge.
Lisbon 70, Wellsville 48
WELLSVILLE -- Lisbon outscored Wellsville in the first half, 46-16, en route to victory.
Erica Sims had 27 points and a team-high 11 rebounds for the Blue Devils.
Caitlin Glenn added 17 points and Emily Smith 13 for the winners (5-2). Erica Snoddy had six steals for Lisbon.
P.J. Williams had six rebounds for the Tigers (2-3).
South Range 50, Western Reserve 42
NORTH LIMA -- Autumn Carter scored 10 points of her 16 points in the first quarter as the Raiders took an early 12-6 lead in an ITCL game.
Danielle Downey and Alicia Withers each added seven points for the Raiders (4-3).
Lainey Kekic scored 11 points for the Blue Devils.
Chaney 58, East Palestine 52
YOUNGSTOWN -- Sophomore point guard Alyssa Sykes scored 17 points for Chaney, which tied the game at 50-50 with three minutes remaining before Shakayla Eiland made two crucial baskets on Sykes' assists.
Eiland, a 5-7 junior, only had two other points in the game, but she also had a team-high 12 rebounds.
Clenisha Pless, a junior, had 15 points, while Jamie Soos, a senior, had 12 points before injuring her ankle late in the first half.
Erin Reese had 11 points for East Palestine, while Logan Guy, who scored 22 points against Chaney last year, was shut down by a box-and-one defense after she made two quick 3-point goals early in the game.
Thirteen 3-pointers were made between the teams.
Wilson 47, Southern 44
SALINEVILLE -- Sophomore Whitli Sanders had 19 points, including the final three points with a jumper and free throw to seal the outcome for the Redmen (1-6).
Southern was ahead by five points in the third quarter before the lead see-sawed.
Wilson applied defensive pressure to help gain the final lead.
Marcinde North added 11 points for Wilson, while E. Ramsey's 18 paced Southern.
Poland 58, Campbell 20
CAMPBELL -- Ashley Shuluga scored 13 points and Ashley Todla had 12 for Poland (4-1) in a Metro Athletic Conference game.
Nate-tay Jones-Logan and Lydia Valez each had four points for Campbell (0-6).
Girard 49, LaBrae 38
GIRARD -- Cynthia Walker scored a career-high 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Adrienne Steverson added 13 for Girard (1-6, 1-2) in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game.
Lindsey Higgins scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Vikings.
Hubbard 56, Newton Falls 50
NEWTON FALLS -- Cara Julian had 12 points, Tessa Scahill 11 and Sophie Paddock 10 for Hubbard, which maintained its lead throughout.
The Eagles took a 16-10 first-quarter lead before Newton Falls pulled within one in the third quarter and within three in the fourth period.
Junior KaiCee Kubicina had 16 points and senior Emily Montomgery added 11 points for the Newton Falls (3-3, 0-3 TAC).
Brookfield 42, Lakeview 33
BROOKFIELD -- Morgan Bonekovic had 26 points, 17 rebounds and six blocked shots for Brookfield (6-1, 3-0 TAC).
The game was tied after three quarters, 30-30, before the Warriors out-scored Lakeview in the final eight minutes, 12-3.
Alynn Martin's 12 points paced the visitors.
Mathews 37, Lordstown 33
LORDSTOWN -- Sarah King scored 19 points to lead Mathews, which out-scored Lordstown 12-7 in the final quarter.
Brianna Blodgett scored 12 points and Heather Wickline 10 to lead Lordstown (2-5).
