YOUNGSTOWN -- Julieann Ray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Ray, 2065 Chapel Hill Drive, became the bride of Dr. Matthew D. Cheng, son of Mr. and Mrs. Serafin G. Cheng of Manila, Philippines, during a 1 p.m. ceremony Nov. 4 at St. Brendan Church.
The Rev. James Daprile solemnized the ceremony, and a reception followed at the Holiday Inn South in Boardman. The couple are living at 136 Meadowland Circle, Lebanon, Va.
A white satin gown designed with a sweetheart neckline and draped bodice was worn by the bride. It featured a lace-up back and attached chapel train and was enhanced with beading.
The bride's cousin, Amy Savich, was matron of honor, and bridesmaid was Melissa Chiaino, also her cousin. They wore red gowns. Gowned in white were the junior bridesmaid, Isabelle Savich, the bride's cousin, and the flower girls, Angelina Savich, also her cousin, and Elisa Akins.
Patrick Cheng, the groom's brother, served as best man, and groomsman was the bride's brother, Michael Ray Jr.. Jonathon Mudrinich, the bride's godson, was junior groomsman, and ring bearer was another godson of the bride, Gavin Batdorff.
Mrs. Cheng holds a bachelor's degree in food and nutrition from Youngstown State University and a master's in strategic leadership from Mountain State University. She is a consultant Dr. Cheng graduated from the University of the Philippines with a bachelor's degree and earned his medical degree at the University of the East in Manila. He is with Community Medical Care in Lebanon.
