GIRARD -- Hawaii was the honeymoon destination of Eric D. Kantner and his bride, the former Jesica E. Monroe, who were united in marriage during a 2 p.m. ceremony solemnized by the Rev. James Korda on Oct. 21 at St. Rose Church.
After their wedding, the daughter of Tim and Mary Ellen Monroe, 1647 Keefer Road, and the son of Doug and Nancy Kantner, 1815 Scottsdale Ave., Columbus, were honored at a reception at Squaw Creek Country Club, Vienna.
The couple live at 600 Montauk Lane, Chesapeake, Va.
The bride wore a strapless ivory gown enhanced with embroidered roses and crystal beading.
Black and hunter-green gowns were worn by the bride's sister and honor attendant, Erin Monroe of Girard, and the bridesmaids, Katie Hynes of Youngstown, her cousin; Amber Conner of Columbus; and Megan Mills of Girard. Flower girl was the groom's niece, Hayley Scottney of Fayetteville, Ark.
The duties of best man were performed by Tom Palmer of Columbus, and groomsmen were B.J. Campbell of Fredricksburg, Va.; Chuck Pearson of Columbus; and Dave Weghyandt of Bowie, Md.
The bride graduated from Pennsylvania Culinary Institute in Pittsburgh and is a manager with Smokey Bones Restaurant in Virginia Beach, Va.
The groom, a general manager at Smokey Bones Restaurant in Chesapeake, graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in graphic illustration.
