Judge sentences man in child porn case

YOUNGSTOWN -- An Austintown man is headed to state prison for four years on child pornography charges after being sentenced by Judge Maureen A. Cronin of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
Wladyslaw Piskor, 64, of Spring Meadow Circle, who was also fined $10,000, had pleaded guilty to five counts of use of a minor in nudity-oriented material and 15 counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor.
Twenty-five additional pandering counts in the indictment were dismissed.
Piskor, also known as Walter Piskor, was accused of having child pornography on his home computer and sending it to other people. The offenses occurred between October 2003 and July 2004.
Judge Cronin, who sentenced Piskor on Tuesday, said Piskor has lung cancer, has had a lung removed and is on oxygen, and it will be up to state prison authorities where he serves his time.
Austintown police said they found 27 pornographic images, many of them involving children, on a computer disc seized from Piskor's home during a July 7, 2004, search.
Investigators said they also have an e-mail sent by Piskor that includes three pornographic images involving children. Police reports said the e-mail was sent to 36 people, including an investigator from the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Justice, who tipped off Ohio authorities.
