Marijuana-growing case sent to grand jury

WARREN -- The case of a Champion Township man authorities say grew marijuana at home will go before a Trumbull County grand jury.
Antonio Eduardo, 35, of North Park Avenue, waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Warren Municipal Judge Thomas P. Gysegem on Tuesday.
Eduardo was charged with illegal manufacture of drugs and felony drug possession after an Aug. 8 raid at his residence.
The Trumbull-Ashtabula-Geauga Law Enforcement Task Force found 75 marijuana plants growing hydroponically -- which means without soil -- in Eduardo's basement with the assistance of sodium lights and a fan and pipe to vent hot air outside, said Sgt. Jeff Orr, task force commander.
The task force also found 15 potted marijuana plants growing outdoors, Orr said.
Eduardo remains free on a $7,500 bond. Eduardo is co-owner of Blooming Gardens, a hydroponic plant business on Elm Road in Warren, Orr said.
