Program on finances set at Copeland Oaks



SEBRING -- The Rev. Michael Slaughter, pastor, lecturer and author, will present a workshop on "Money Matters: Financial Freedom for all God's Churches and People" Sept. 22 at Copeland Oaks, 800 S. 15th St.
The program, sponsored by The Oaks Foundation, will be of interest to pastors, finance directors and leaders responsible for stewardship campaigns, building campaigns, planned giving campaigns and related financial challenges. Registration and continental breakfast will be at 8 a.m.
The keynote topic is "Let's Talk About Money: Jesus Did," at 9 a.m. "Debt Free Living" and "Implementing a Year Round Stewardship Program" are workshop topics. The cost is $20 a person or $50 per church for five registrants. Registration deadline is Sept. 15.
The Rev. Mr. Slaughter began his ministry in 1979 at Ginghamsburg Church, Tipp City, Ohio. At that time it was a small country church, but today there are 4,000 members. He has a doctor of divinity degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton. His books include "Spiritual Entrepreneurs" and "Money Matters."
