Motorcycle driver flown to hospital

DAMASCUS -- The Canfield post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an accident in Goshen Township that sent the driver of a motorcycle to St. Elizabeth Health Center by air ambulance.
A woman riding a motorcycle east on state Route 165 near the Goshen Police District building and township hall swerved to miss a sport utility vehicle westbound on Route 165 around 5 p.m. Tuesday. The patrol said the woman's injuries were not life-threatening but would not release her name pending notification of family members.
The patrol said the driver of the SUV was attempting to turn into the township hall parking lot, and there was no contact between the SUV and the motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle lost control, and the motorcycle flipped over. The patrol said the woman suffered a pelvic injury when she landed in the ditch on the south side of the road.
The woman had a helmet with her but was not wearing it. The patrol said she did not appear to have suffered head injuries.
