MILTON TOWNSHIP | Zoning rules Milton Township Zoning Commission discussed these items at its Monday night meeting:



Township trustees will meet at 9 a.m. Aug. 29 at the township hall to consider a zoning change for property owners across Mahoning Avenue from Jackson-Milton Middle School to provide off-season boat storage. The property is a picnic area, Trustee Harold Moore said.
Discussed current zoning laws related to residential housing.
Decided construction of buildings other than garages meant as accessories to single-family dwellings must have the approval of the zoning appeals board if they are 200 square feet or larger.
Agreed that accessory buildings can be no higher than 15 feet.
Determined 11/2-story houses must have no less than 850 square feet on each floor, and two-story houses can have no less than 575 square feet on each floor.
Agreed that homes must have a minimum of 1,200 square feet, and a minimum of 1,240 square feet if built on a concrete slab with no basement.
