GREENFORD -- South Range Board of Education has agreed to pay Dickey Electric of Beaver Township $13,400 to complete electrical work at the former North Lima Public Library.
The board also announced Monday that there will be two special meetings in September to secure a general contractor for a renovation project at the building, which will soon house the district's administration offices.
The first session is scheduled for noon Sept. 6, when the school board plans to open bids for the work. The board intends to vote on awarding a contract to the low bidder at a second special meeting at 7 a.m. Sept. 7.
Last month, the school district announced plans to move its administration offices to the building, a former branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, sometime this fall.
The district paid $235,000 for the building last year and has been using it for storage and various activities.
What's planned
The building is to house offices for the superintendent, treasurer, special education coordinator and the building and grounds supervisor, bringing the district's top administration offices under one roof and closer to the high school and elementary school.
For the past several years, the district has been renting space there for offices used by the superintendent and treasurer, paying about $16,000 a year, plus the cost of utilities.
In other news, Superintendent Dennis Dunham announced there will be no increase in lunch prices this year. The cost of the meals will remain $2 at the high school and $1.75 at the middle and elementary schools.
