Monday, August 21, 2006 Architect Robert Hanahan of Boardman: a lifelong resident of Mahoning County, and was president of Hanahan-Strollo Architects for 45 years until 1997. Hanahan-Strollo Architects has been responsible for many prominent buildings in Mahoning County, parts of St. Elizabeth Health Center and Yougstown State University buildings among them. Hanahan had a hand in the design of many public projects, including the award-winning Velma & D.D. Davis Education Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park. John Logue of Youngstown: a former executive vice president of the Builders Association of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, retiring in 2004. He served as director for labor relations and director of training for the Builders Association and is responsible for construction labor agreements with 12 local unions in Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Atty. David Comstock of Comstock, Springer & Wilson Co. LPA, Youngstown: He retired in 2004 after practicing law as a trial lawyer for 45 years. He is a former president of the Mahoning County Bar Association, member of the Board of Governors of the Ohio State Bar Association and a current member of the Ohio Supreme Courts Board of Commissioners on Grievances and Discipline. Joseph Sylvester Jr.: He is chief executive officer of Joseph Sylvester Construction Co. Inc., Boardman; has helped lead the family-owned company into its 47th year as a design-build contractor and has expanded into cabinet and contract furniture divisions. He continues to apply his time and efforts to the Boardman Civic Association, the Boardman Township Site Plan Review Committee, the Mahoning County Planning Commission and as a Home Builders Association board member.
