Richardses renew wedding vows for 50th anniversary



HOWLAND -- Mr. and Mrs. James W. Richards of Howland recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
The couple attended an anniversary Mass at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown in June, and on July 8, they repeated their marriage vows at Blessed Sacrament Church in Warren. They were honored that evening at a dinner at Leo's Ristorante hosted by their children.
Mr. Richards and the former Clara Pecchia were married July 7, 1956, at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown.
Mr. Richards retired from Packard Electric after working there for 47 years. Mrs. Richards was employed as a nurse at St. Joseph Riverside Hospital and retired after 27 years.
The couple's family includes their daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and John Schumacher of Cincinnati and Barbara and Timothy Campbell of Clifton, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Richards of Canton; and seven grandchildren. Their son, John J. Richards, is deceased.
