GRETA HOFFMANCHRISTOPHER SHIRES
BROOKFIELD -- Christopher R. Shires and his bride, the former Greta E. Hoffman, both of 3317 Nash Ave., Cincinnati, honeymooned at Park City, Utah, after their July 29 wedding at Brookfield United Methodist Church.
The bride is a daughter of James and Becky Hoffman, 1060 N. Albright-McKay Road, and the groom is a son of the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Shires, 10860 Tomoron Lane, Boca Raton, Fla.
The couple were united in marriage during a 3:30 p.m. ceremony solemnized by the groom's father, and were honored that evening at a reception held at The Corinthian in Sharon, Pa.
Wearing periwinkle-colored gowns were the bride's sister and honor attendant, Alyssa Booms of Columbus, and the bridesmaids, Rebecca Berger of Cincinnati and Tammy Spradlin of Canton.
The duties of best man were performed by Michael Redmond of Houston, and groomsmen were Thomas Murphy of St. Louis and Nick Schirz of Cincinnati. Guests were ushered by Matthew Ruppert of Cincinnati and the groom's stepbrother, Patrick DeFerdinando of Boca Raton.
A graduate of Miami University at Oxford with a bachelor's degree in education, the bride is a seventh-grade language arts teacher with Winton Woods Middle School in Cincinnati.
Mr. Shires is an interpretive services manager with the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati. He earned a bachelor's degree in history at Marshall University and a master's in history at the University of Missouri.
