AMY KAPPLERBRET DORFMAN
XCANFIELD -- Amy Kappler and Bret Dorfman, both of 1324 Petrell Drive, Virginia Beach, Va., were united in marriage July 3 during a 5:30 p.m. ceremony solemnized by the Rev. Steven Geitgey at Avion on the Water Banquet Center.
A reception was held afterward at the center.
The bride is a daughter of Ken and Cathy Kappler, 10925 Springfield Road, Poland, and the groom is a son of Connie Nybert and Howie and Liz Dorfman, all of Virginia Beach.
Metallic embroidery and beadwork embellished the bride's A-line organza gown. The tiered skirt featured a scalloped edge and flowed into a chapel train.
Wearing claret-red gowns were the honor attendants, Lisa Catauro of Watervliet, Mich., and Randina Jakres, of Gastonia, N.C., and the bridesmaids, Kelly Kappler of Boardman and Mary Kappler of North Lima, sisters of the bride.
Serving as best men were Brandon Reed and Jamie Flowers, both of Virginia Beach, and groomsmen were Ian Gillespie of Fairfax, Va., Mike Catauro of Watervliet, and Andrew Soltes and the groom's brother, Mike Dorfman, both of Virginia Beach.
After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple live in Virginia Beach.
The bride graduated from Marietta College with a bachelor's degree and is an athletic trainer with the Therapy Network in Virginia Beach.
The groom earned a bachelor's degree in business at Old Dominion University in Norfolk and is employed by Geico in Virginia Beach.
