Reception held for Hughes 50th at Fair Park

CANFIELD -- A reception was held April 15 at Fair Park to honor Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hughes, 9537 New Buffalo Road, who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
Invitations for the event were extended by the couple's daughter and her husband, Karen and Jim Wise of Cranberry, Pa. The Hughes family includes two other children, John Hughes of Poland and April DeGarmo of Lincoln, Neb., and there are 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The former Daphene Mize and Mr. Hughes were married April 14, 1956, in Batesville, Ark. The couple were co-owners of Hughes Country Home prior to retiring in 1995. They are members of Jehovah's Witnesses, New Springfield Congregation.
