FORTY YEARS AGO: Dan Forshee, manager of General Motors new Chevrolet Division assembly plant at Lordstown, affixes a special license plate to the front of an Impala 4-door hardtop, the first production car to come off the line April 28, 1966. Initial production was five cars an hour, with a goal of reaching 60 per hour.
