More than 500 student journalists from 21 high schools throughout the Mahoning Valley participated in the annual Press Day at Youngstown State University. The event included 75 sessions featuring various local print, radio and television journalists and covering topics ranging from blogging and newspaper design to photography and ethics. The keynote speaker was Paul Nyden, award-winning investigative reporter with the Charleston Gazette in West Virginia. The winners were:
