NEOUCOM chief is set to speak



Eighteen women have been nominated for the Athena Award.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Dr. Lois Margaret Nora, president of Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine, will be the speaker at the Athena Award dinner May 25 at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman.
The dinner, co-sponsored by the Regional Chamber and The Vindicator, recognizes area business and professional women who have demonstrated excellence in their careers, provided leadership in the community and contributed to the growth of other professional women.
Nora began her career at NEOUCOM in 2002, becoming only the ninth female dean among 120 national medical schools. She earned her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, completing a residency in neurology and a fellowship in electromyography and neuromuscular disease.
While continuing in private practice, she attended the University of Chicago Law School. She also holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Kentucky.
