Chorale plans spring concert

SHARON, Pa. -- "Made in America" might be the theme of the Shenango Valley Chorale's spring concert, "Songs of America," on May 6 and 7.
The Chorale, under the direction of Edgar S. Groves and accompanied by Tina Greig and Ray Ocock, will perform a group of uniquely American songs, ranging from folk music to spirituals to show tunes from different eras, written by great American composers.
The concerts are at 7:30 p.m. May 6 at First United Methodist Church, 237 W. Silver St., in Sharon; and at 2:30 p.m. May 7 at Hickory High School, 640 N. Hermitage Road, in Hermitage.
Also performing will be the Shenango Area Youth Chorus at the May 6 show; and the Hickory High School Chamber Singers at the May 7 show. Julie Morris is director of both youth groups.
Tickets for the concert, available at the door, are $6 for adults and $4 for students and children.
